You have to have a CREDIT CARD. It is useful to have one, if you want to rent a car. But be aware that the name of the credit card and the name of the driver should be the same.
Attention: VisaElectron, Maestro/EC, Prepaid Card and Debit Cards are not considered a CREDIT CARD!

CHECK-IN TIME: The specified time on the flight plan is the departure time of the aircraft.
The departure time is not the time to which you need to check-in, nor the time to which you must be ready for boarding.
The CHECK-IN TIME is the latest possible time to which you may be accepted for embarking the airplane.
After CHECK-IN be aware that you need time for the SECURITY CHECK.
The BOARDING TIME is the latest time you are required to be at the gate to get into the airplane.

At the FIRST AIRPORT in the USA (your first stop-over in the States)
you have to pass the IMMIGRATION.
Show your passport, your I-94W Form and you custom record to the officer.
A SMALL STUB of the I-94W Form have to remain in your passport for the departure.
Then pick up your luggage and pass the custom.
There you have to show the custom record.
If this airport is a stop-over airport you have to drop your luggage at the counter.

After your first night call the landlord's representative (caretaker) and inform her/him that everything is okay.
If you have any complaints, talk to us IMMEDIATELY. Only in this way we are able to immediately remedy the situation.
If you have to do a payment, make an appointment with her/him.
Find the phone numbers on the rental contract.
In no case go to the caretakers home without an appointment.

If it's your first stay in the USA ask the caretaker that she/he could explain all the appliances:
e.g. dryer, micro wave, stove, AC, washer and dish washer.
Unfortunately, with the start of the digital TV the handling of the television sets has become more complicated.
